The Challenge: Curbing Early Turnover in High-Volume Operations
In fast-paced food service operations with 350+ staff, onboarding inconsistency leads to abrupt departures within the first 60 days. The objective was to replace informal training handovers with a formalized, compassionate and accountable integration journey for each new employee.
Structured Onboarding Framework & Tracking Dashboard
The system segments integration into three stages: pre-boarding paperwork automation via Easy@Work, buddy-assisted operational pairing during week one, and periodic HR check-ins scheduled at 30, 60 and 90 days. All milestone completions are logged in a centralized tracker to alert managers on support needs.
Key Organizational Challenges
- Engaging floor managers to dedicate systematic mentoring time despite intense daily customer rushes.
- Standardizing safety and hygiene protocols across varied multilingual shift teams.
- Creating digital onboarding materials accessible on mobile devices without complex authentication.
